LAKE POWELL, ARIZONA š Most drives between places are 2-3 hours, so we moved on from Bryce to arrive to the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (didnāt realize we were staying within it, grateful for the National Park Pass) that houses Lake Powell Resort. Compared to the last place, definite upgrade, but not to the nines resort. We were glad to have a chill day and the pool overlooks the giant lake with the stunning mesas in the backdrop. The formations are an even lighter color here. Itās been really cool learning about the geological differences. For anyone counting Iām up 3-0 against mom in Five Crowns (card game). Currently sitting on our back patio messaging into the abyss with the mind blowing landscape in front of me, but even more full of excited butterflies as we will soon depart for one of my bucket list items, Antelope Canyon (will share tomorrow). #LizandMomDotheDesert
BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK š² Major lesson learned here: bottom of canyon (Zion) = SAFE, top of canyon (Bryce) = PROBABLE DEATH, according to mom. It was crazy how very different the two parks are. Zion was massive cliffs, that reminded me of Yellowstone, but dryer. Bryce is filled with incredible sandstone formations, called hoodoos (google it). So we saw the Silent City, many āwindowsā, The Cathedral, Thorās Hammer, and when mom chicken out walking along the super safe path from Sunset Point to Sunrise Point, I put my AirPods in and absorbed it all, even spying the Queen Victoria hoodoo. We came back, relaxed at the fake western town across the street for a few minutes, checked in to Rubyās Inn that has been here for over 100 years, and finished the night at Ebenezerās Country Music Dinner Show. We are confident that that is all there is to do in Bryce Canyon. Off we go to Antelope Canyon area today (this has been on my bucket list since I saw a photo of it prob 25 years ago, it just glows, look it up. #LizandMomDotheDesert
ZION NATIONAL PARK šµ Simply amazing. Got an early start, but what people said was true the first shuttles were crowded. We walked up to āDisney-esqueā lines but there were double buses and they came quickly so only had to wait about 30min and it was cool in the morning, around 70, but donāt worry it heated up to 108 midday but by then we were having our first šŗš·. Itās truly amazing the different landscapes of our nation. It was also so cool to be immersed in so many different languages, thinking about how this draws people and the vastness reminded us both of when we were in the Swiss Alps. Both stunning and both geological wonders, but so insanely different, too. Mom is still alive. #LizandMomDotheDesert
Happiest Motherās Day, @alliefinnerty! While youāre more than a few miles away, the pups never forget you and dare I say are more and more excited each visit. Canāt wait to document you pointing at ALL the things in the desert this summer. We love you! š Liz, Blair, Quinnie, and Piper
Itās hard to believe how quickly the past several months have gone by as I stepped into the role of Vice President of Marketing and Communications at The Centers, and how fast the past 10 months have flown since joining the organization.
During that time, Iāve had the opportunity to help guide our marketing and communications strategy through a period of incredibly meaningful growth, including the upcoming launches of the Glick Recovery Campus and The Centersā H.O.P.E. CampusĀ® Welcome Center this fall and winter.
What continues to stand out most is our team, always growing in all the right ways. I get to work alongside clinicians, advocates, fundraisers, peer supporters, marketers, and leaders who show up every day with deep commitment to our community, and it shows in everything we do.
Iām excited to keep building, strengthening our voice, growing partnerships, and helping tell the stories behind the impact across early learning, workforce development, behavioral health and crisis recovery, as well as residential services for some of our most vulnerable youth across Northeast Ohio.
Come joint me, NOW HIRING: Marketing Director (link in bio)
Plus we are hiring for a slew of other positions for the Glick Recovery Campus and The Centersā H.O.P.E. Campus, DM me for details.
Iām grateful for the trust placed in me by our leadership, especially Stacey Rubenfeld, and am beyond energized to continue building our team and strategy to amplify the work of more than 750 employees serving over 20,000 community members each year. Next time I see you, and always, Iāll happily share more about the life-changing work happening at The Centersā¦

2 times in 3 days, thatās totally cool, right?! As someone who may or may not (DEFINITELY MAY) rank restaurants, @rosy.restaurant is about as high as you can get in my opinion. The James Beard award is coming for you, @chefvinniecimino (knocking on šŖµ). I had to reorder some of the things I had on Thursday, plus with 6 people we basically ate the whole menu, and some multiplesā¦once someone had one bite of the sausage they ordered a second serving. And as we were wrapping up, Leeks with Bouillabaisse and Fresh Maine Uni got swapped in on the menu so of course we had to try that, too. Seriously, awesome night, awesome food and awesome company. Thank you for your creativeness in every way, @chefvinniecimino and @cleveland2222, and thanks for being food junkies, @darth.hulk, @vswaggz, @derseders, @hoyt.tracy, and Howard who def tried to start a dance party.

BONUS, when I made the res for tonight, I also grabbed one for Sunday with a larger group, maybe weāll make it through the menu. New hobby, activated! I forget who here on the wonderful IG webs led us to @maryteachesmahjong, but THANK YOU! We were all super nervous at first hearing from others before starting about how complicated it is, and it is, but Mary is a great teacher and we all took turns with right answers and a few of us with false Mahjongs, but I think itās safe to say that we all loved it by the end and are excited to play again! A million thanks to @mandylyn_carroll for hosting š #mahjongmondays
Beautiful weather and no plans def meant a trip to my happy place, @grafgrowers! I was there for some houseplants and def scored as they are 20% OFF today PLUS shamrocks! The iron cross shamrocks are my fave with the dark centers, but have never seen these adorable blooms before - they def came home with me!
Documenting bits of my piece from āThe Return of the Vampire Hustlers from Hellā art show, āMaGhouleyās,ā as it was my first time exploring digital collage and embroidery. While the process happened as kind of a happy accident because of a plethora of challenges at the time kept me from finishing the oil painting I started for it, it opened up a whole new world to me. While I canāt show you the full piece as the subject matter is NSFW, from the backside of the piece you can see the idea of how I focused on exposing little windows/scenes. So this is what Iād like to start playing with in future art. I suppose Iām putting it here to remind myself to do it! Iāve been working so much, I want to be sure to have another creative outlet, too. The idea of creating little worlds is so exciting to me. And, if youāve followed along for a long time you know I love Wes Andersonās work and a lot of it is because of the set design and all of the thoughtfulness he puts into his worlds, but then Iām also super inspired by visual artists like @amy_casey_artās paintings and found objects art, including collections by La Wilson and sculptures by @gwaightee, as they all have always transported me. So here I sit on a Saturday am starting to plot ideas of little worlds that mean something to me, as crazy or tiny as they might be. And now my brain is really going and maybe Iāll get āBig Mamaā in on it, my large format printer. While the worlds/scenes will be tiny, there could be quite a large collection of them on one piece. Of course I will need to start mapping a Lovely Somethings piece, but that will def NOT be for sale šš Oooh, maybe a Howe Meadow Farmerās Market collage⦠shout out if you have other ideasā¦
Some of the really yummy ways I celebrated 46 (typing out 4-6!). Cream cheese frosting from @westsidebakery (sure there was cake, too). Finally made it to @zapzapsushi - EXCELLENT, plus our go to fave @merchanttavern but tried something new for me, the Apricot Burger (Apricot Jam + Brie + Pickled Veg). Excited about what this year will hold, seeking out joy, always šāØ
